What is pediatric home healthcare staffing?
We match Georgia families of medically fragile children with qualified nurses (RN/LPN) and, where eligible, unskilled caregiver support. Care happens at home per your child’s physician orders and plan of care. We focus on staffing—not equipment.
Who qualifies for your services?
- Under 21 and lives in Georgia
- Has a diagnosis requiring skilled nursing
- Has Medicaid (including Katie Beckett/Deeming Waiver) or likely to qualify
What’s the difference between skilled and unskilled care?
- Skilled: RN/LPN tasks like G‑tube care/feeds, trach care & suctioning, ventilator monitoring per orders, medication administration, respiratory treatments, dressing changes, and clinical assessments.
- Unskilled: Program‑eligible caregiver support (often a parent/guardian) for daily living activities. Availability depends on Medicaid program rules and medical necessity.
How long does the approval process take?
Most cases review in about 30–60 days once required documentation is submitted. We keep you updated by email throughout.
Can a parent or guardian be paid to care for their child?
In many situations, yes. Certain Georgia Medicaid options allow a parent/guardian to be compensated as an unskilled caregiver. We verify eligibility during intake and send next steps by email.
What medical conditions commonly qualify for skilled care?
- Airway: tracheostomy, ventilator dependence
- Feeding: G‑tube, J‑tube, or complex nutrition needs
- Neurological: seizure disorders, CP, neuromuscular conditions
- Cardio‑respiratory: oxygen needs, frequent respiratory treatments
- Post‑surgical or medically complex diagnoses needing nursing oversight
We don’t have Medicaid yet—can we still start?
Yes. Complete the intake and we’ll help you understand options such as Katie Beckett/Deeming Waiver and eligibility steps.
What qualifications do your nurses have?
- Active Georgia RN or LPN license
- Background check and references
- Current BLS; PALS when required by case
- Validated pediatric competencies (e.g., trach, G‑tube, ventilator monitoring as applicable)
- Ongoing training and skills validation
How are shifts and schedules arranged?
- Typical blocks: Day, Evening, Overnight (8–12 hours)
- Schedules follow authorized hours and your family routine
- We prioritize consistent staffing to reduce turnover
- Schedule changes are requested and confirmed by email
What if my child has a tracheostomy or uses a ventilator?
We staff nurses who are validated for trach/vent competencies and follow physician orders and the child’s plan of care. Nurses document assessments and complete shift handoffs for continuity.
What happens if there’s an emergency?
Each family has an individualized Emergency & Escalation Plan—including when to call 911, when to contact on‑call clinical support, and airway steps for trach situations. Plans are reviewed with assigned staff.
Do you provide backup nurses if ours can’t make it?
We work to provide coverage whenever possible and communicate promptly by email about any staffing updates.
Which Georgia counties do you serve?
We currently serve Cherokee, Douglas, Henry, Rockdale, Clayton, Cobb, Gwinnett, DeKalb, Fulton, and nearby areas. If you’re outside these counties, submit the intake and we’ll confirm availability by email.
How many hours of care could my child receive?
Hours depend on medical necessity, RN assessment, and payer rules. Many families receive around 20–40 hours/week; medically complex cases may qualify for more.
Do you offer care at school, or only at home?
Our focus is home‑based staffing. If school support is needed, we’ll discuss options during intake based on payer rules and medical necessity.
How do you match nurses to my child’s needs?
We consider diagnosis, technology needs (e.g., trach/G‑tube/vent monitoring), location, language, and schedule. We aim for consistency and the right skill fit.
